Retatrutide added two more Phase 3 wins.

Lilly’s TRIUMPH-2 enrolled 1,152 adults with obesity or overweight and type 2 diabetes. At 80 weeks, the 12 mg group lost an average 20.8% of body weight, versus 4.0% on placebo. A1C fell by as much as 1.6 percentage points.

TRIUMPH-3 studied 1,949 adults with severe obesity and established cardiovascular disease. The 12 mg group lost 22.6%, versus 3.2% on placebo. The trial recorded too few major cardiovascular events to prove a heart benefit, and 13.5% of the top-dose group discontinued because of adverse events.

Lilly now has five positive Phase 3 studies and plans a US filing in Q1 2027. Retatrutide remains investigational. An online vial using the name is not Lilly’s trial drug.
